Question:: This is your third book, a continuation of turkey hunting stories?
Author: Yes, it's all turkey hunting stories and experiences centric.
Question: I noticed there was more time between your second and third title, why is that?
Author: You have that right, about twice as long. To answer your question fully, there was no plan in place to write it. I had started two big projects, D.D. Adams and Empire Limb Hangers, and those are very involved projects with very different work flows. Each of those two require lots of time to do interviews, travel, research, and I have to wrap my head around it each time I set time aside for it. The Story books tend to fall into place as I write each season of the days afield to keep the memory fresh and writing more descriptive. Some stories I literally wrote on my phone while waiting on first light, and the birds to gobble on the roost, or at times where I had fifteen-twenty minutes tof idle time. At some point I took notice there was enough material already flushed out and ready for formatting in book form. A year prior I was put out on the street from the sale of a CMOS image sensor company I had originally founded with four others. The VP of sales had bought it unbeknownst to us, and we had been trying to get him removed for two years. That went on to a very tragic end with the new owner being murdered by his own son. I went on to start my own tech company and the big book projects went on hold as I could not accommodate the work flow at the time. This book was a short exercise of formatting and putting it out there.
Question: What can readers of your first book expect to find different in comparison to the first two books?
Author: Grand Days is entirely hunting stories and with more detail, an expansion of the idea of putting the reader at the tree next to me as it unfolds.
Question: How long did it take to the write the book? You did the book design as you did for the first two?
Author: As mentioned, most of it was written in small segments and filed away over the course of nearly six years. Once I decide to put it together as a book, just a few weeks to format interior copy and finalize the cover. Yes, I did the cover for this one as well.
Question: What do you have in the works going forward?
Author: The two big projects, D.D. Admas, and Empire Limb Hangers are continual efforts. I do have some personal writings, reflections, poems as a hunter, and that will just pop up at will when I get to it. I expect another story book as the seasons roll by and I get enough. Those workflows (actually haphazard and unstructured) are the easiest to fit into my professional endeavors.
Question: What offerings will there be, and where can they be purchased?
Author: The book is out in trade paperback, kindle e-book, laminated hardcover, and a limited hardcover with dust jacket printing of 130 copies. Trade paperback, kindle e-book, laminated hardcover books are available online thru: amazon.com.
